Sealing and insulating
In roofing applications, bitumen blocks are heated in a 1m³ boiler and melted to the required temperature, then poured on the roof, in between sheets of waterproofing. Adhesive construction

It may be used for horizontal and vertical application for tanking below ground structures, subways and retaining walls.

Bitumen is used to produce bituminous membranes, perfect for waterproofing roofs, basements, below-ground structures, bridges and other structures.
RUBBER INDUSTRIES
Rubber
Production of rubber bitumen by blending of bitumen with crumb rubber from scrap tires is not just a waste treating method, but a possible solution for improving the durability of asphalt pavements compared to roads made of conventional bitumen.
Plastic
